In the year 2010, five faculty members of the MHA program of St. Jude College Graduate School had a meeting of minds and agreed to put up a society aimed at professionalizing healthcare management in the Philippines. This idea was then presented during the 4th Postgraduate course of St. Jude College MHA held at the Garden Wing of EDSA Shangri-la Hotel on October 21, 2011. Several volunteers who shared the same passion joined the core group to give their contribution which led to the birth of the Healthcare Executives Society of the Philippines (HESP).
Since then, annual academic convention were held as part of the society’s advocacy. Being dynamic leaders in the healthcare profession, the founders of the HESP, pioneered by its president, decided to come up with an academic program that will improve the healthcare management system. Thus, the Master in Hospital Management Curriculum was crafted and was to be conducted as an Executive Customized or Blended Program. A faculty roster of experts in their field was formed to handle the different courses of the program.
The program was offered to three different schools and it was St. Joseph’s College of Quezon City who gave a positive response. A partnership was then forged on August 29, 2014 and the Master in Hospital Management program offering was initiated in St. Joseph’s College in collaboration with the HESP.
